Gnome Click ("we") is a browser game at gnomeclick.com. This page explains what we collect and why. We keep it to the minimum the game needs.
What we collect
- Your gnome name. You choose it in the intro. It is shown publicly on the World Ranks. Please don't use your real full name.
- A random player ID and a secret token. They identify your gnome. The token is stored in your browser (local storage) and acts like a password; we only keep a scrambled (hashed) copy.
- Game scores (tokens, floors, play time) for the World Ranks.
- Approximate country, from the network request, shown as a two-letter code next to your name on the ranks.
- Rate-limit records. To stop spam we keep a hashed, daily-rotating fingerprint of your IP address for a short time. We don't store your IP address itself.
- Premium subscribers only: your saved game, your subscription status, and the customer ID and email address that Stripe sends us after checkout.
Settings stored on your device
Your language, sound volume and similar preferences are stored in your browser's local storage. Free players' game progress is not saved anywhere: it disappears when the page reloads.
Payments
Subscriptions are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card details. See Stripe's privacy policy.
Advertising
Free players see ads. Right now these are our own "house" ads, which use no cookies and no tracking. If we add a third-party ad network (such as Google AdSense) in the future, it may use cookies to show and measure ads, and we will ask for consent where the law requires it. This page will be updated first.
Children
Gnome Click is made for a general audience. We don't ask for or knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 beyond a chosen screen name. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Site statistics
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page views. It uses no cookies, doesn't fingerprint your device and doesn't follow you to other sites. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
Where data is stored
Game data is stored with Cloudflare (our hosting provider). We keep it while your gnome is active. Ranks entries may be removed after long inactivity.
Your choices
You can change your name in Settings. To delete your gnome and all associated data, email us with your Gnome Passport code (Settings → Gnome Passport) and we'll remove it.
